    At this meeting, it was decided to reorganize the Scientific Organizing Committee for the next meeting by having rotating terms of office (normally 6 years) and two representatives from each of the following areas of the world: Europe, USA/Canada, Japan/Pacific. The Southampton meeting also was last to have the Proceedings published by the Kupffer Cell Foundation.

    At this meeting a motion was made and approved by an overwhelming majority to form an official society in support of mutual interest in research and education for liver non-parenchymal and parenchymal cells.

    Election was held for a new society. International Society for Hepatic Sinusoidal Research (ISHSR) has been adopted and new governing Council members were elected.
